About a week ago, when taking my two dogs for a walk at the park, I noticed some kind of mushroom growth by this tree. The last few days it has really exploded and this is what it looks like today. It took me awhile to find out what it is and found out it is called Chicken of the Woods. The neat part is, this is edible. In fact, in several countries this is considered a delicacy. You want to get it when it is still soft and fleshy. This one may be just a little too late as parts of it were starting to look like it was decaying. I've eaten Puffballs before and I would like to try this the next time I find one.
